Malaysian love having Thai food for family dinner outing. One of its popular items is Ayam Paprik. The dish complete a hearty Thai cuisine which consists of soup (Tom Yam Goong) and vegetable (Kailan Ikan Masin).The sauce is savory and spicy but its spiciness can be adjusted to your taste. You can also replace chicken with beef, seafood or even vegetable. Here we share how to make simple Ayam Paprik at home. 

Ingredients

200g chicken breast
1/2 inch ginger
1 onion
2 cloves of garlic
1 lemongrass
4 tablespoon chili paste
5 kaffir lime leaves
6-7 birds eye chili
1/4 cauliflower
3 long beans
1 carrot
1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce
2 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 tablespoon of cornstarch (mixed with 1 tablespoon water)
1 tablespoon chili sauce (optional)
salt


Instructions

Slice chicken breast thinly to allow chicken cooks faster
Blend ginger, onion, garlic and lemon grass into paste
Cut long beans into 1/2 inch long, cauliflower into small florets, and carrot into slices or match sticks
Saute the paste from before until tender and fragrant
Add chili paste and mix until fragrant again. Add soy sauce and little salt
Add chicken and fry until almost cooked. Add 1/2 cup of water and let it simmer on low heat for couple of minute
Add cornstarch mixture and cook on high heat
Add kaffir lime leaves, birds eye chili, long beans, carrot and cauliflower. Mix well and add oyster sauce
Mix and cook for another minute
Ayam Paprik DONE!
