Fried Battered Squid
Sotong Goreng Tepung
This is one of must have dish if you happened to visit a local seafood restaurant in Malaysia. Its crispy texture can't keep your hand off the dish and it is often serve with light sweet and tangy chili sauce. 


Ingredients

4 squids
1 cup wheat flour
1/2 cup corn flour
3 tablespoon rice flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 egg


Instructions

Clean and slice squids into ring bite size pieces.
Sprinkle some salt, mix and leave it rest. Don't forget to pat dry the squid before drenching
Mix wheat flour, corn flour, rice flour baking powder, salt, black pepper and turmeric powder in a bowl. Divide the mixture into two separate plates
Beat 1 egg and pour into a bowl.
Heat oil and make sure it hot enough that flour sizzles right after you put into it.

Drench squids pieces into flour mixture, then beaten egg and finally another flour mixture
Fry the squids in oil until it turns golden brown.
Drain oil excess on paper towel before serving them.
Sotong Goreng Tepung DONE!
