Sate (Satay)

Satay
Skewered meats are delicious foods and famous all around the world. Sate is Malaysian skewered meat which originated from Indonesia and usually served with creamy peanut sauce, nasi impit, cucumber and raw onion. The dish can be prepared ahead of time and it is a complete meal with protein, carbs and vegetable. The meat can easily be replace with your choice of meat and the only things that differs is time its cooking.

Ingredients

A
1kg chicken breast/beef/lamb
3 tablespoon sugar
½ tablespoon salt
½ teaspoon turmeric powder

B
4-5 onions
4 garlic cloves
2 inch ginger
1 inch galangal
5-6 stalk of lemongrass
5-6 tablespoon ground coriander (cook without oil)
2-3 tablespoon ground fennel seeds (cook without oil)
4-5 tablespoon ground cumin seeds (cook without oil)

Instructions

Cut your choice of meat into small dice
Blend all ingredients in Part B into paste
Add meat, B ingredients paste and rest of ingredients into a big bowl. Mix them well
Marinade the meat for 3-4 hours
Skew the meat to wooden skewers
Grill the skewed meats on charcoal or your electric grill until the meats are cooked
Sate DONE!
