Sambal Tumis Telur |
Sambal Tumis Telur is a simple recipe to make if
you need to make something out of your pantry quick. However, its cooking time
is dependent on how quick dried chili paste is cooking and it need to be cooked
at low heat to avoid burning the chili. The egg first need to be hard boiled
before frying after peeling the skin off to get crispy outer texture. Then
sauce is cooked before we combine both together.
Ingredients
10 eggs
2 onions
3 garlic cloves
2 tablespoon dried chili paste
1/2 tablespoon tamarind paste (mixed with 1
tablespoon water)
1 tablespoon dried shrimps (optional)
1 onion (sliced)
1 tsp salt
1/2 tbsp sugar
cooking oil
Instructions
Fill a pot enough to cover whole eggs and heat
until boiling
Turn off the heat and let eggs further cook using
heat left in water
Blend 2 onions, garlic cloves and shrimps into
paste. Slice the other onion thinly
Peel off egg shells when they are cold enough to
handle
Heat 2 tablespoon of cooking oil in a pan
and fry eggs until skin become crispy golden brown
Remove eggs from pan and add dried chili paste and
blended paste.Cook at low heat until oil starts to separate and chili is
cooked
Add tamarind juice and sliced onion. Let it
simmers and add some water if you feels sauce is too thick
Cook until chili become thick and turn off the
heat
Add sugar and salt. Mix well
Add egg and mix well.
